Winnipeg police are investigating an online threat to a school

A Winnipeg school is working with Winnipeg police after a “threatening message” was posted online.

In a letter obtained by CTV News Winnipeg, college principal Pierre-Elliot-Trudeau said parents were notified at the school on Wednesday, May 22.

“This message has been temporarily deleted. We have reached out to the Winnipeg Police Service and continue to receive direction from them,” Director Diana Zozman said in the letter.

When students come to school on Wednesdays, they can only enter through the front door. All doors left in the letter remain locked.

“WPS staff will be involved along with additional school staff. WPS will continue to assess and provide us with additional direction as we navigate this situation,” Zozman said.

Const. Dani McKinnon confirmed that police are working with the school administration. He added that it was not possible to provide any other information.

Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau College is a division of East Transcona River School.
