Man arrested, released for robbery – Winnipeg Free Press

A man arrested for stealing a wallet has been released from custody.

On Dec. 12, a suspect approached a woman and asked her for bus fare at a discount store in the 2800 block of Pembina Highway. When the victim took out her wallet, the man grabbed it and ran away, then finished using the victim's credit card. transactions totaling more than $4,500.

A man pushed a woman to the ground Dec. 28 at a pharmacy in the 1100 block of Pembina. The suspect made over $800 in purchases using the victim's credit card.

On February 11, a man stole a woman's wallet in the same pharmacy.

Police investigated and discovered two more robberies that month. One was at a discount store in the 1300 block of Ellis Avenue and the other was at a shopping center in the 2000 block of Corydon Avenue. The Winnipeg Police Department said Tuesday that the suspect committed a robbery against the victims, who have yet to be identified.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on April 16 and charged with three counts of robbery and two counts of fraud under $5,000. No charges were filed in the two February robberies, in which the victims were not identified.

The man has been released and has not yet been charged.
