Calgary Surge set CEBL league attendance record

The Calgary Surge and Edmonton Stingers kicked off the sixth season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) on Tuesday in front of the largest single-game crowd in league history as 12,327 fans packed Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome. The game will be broadcast on a national channel
TSNwas announced at 7:00 p.m. local time / 9:00 p.m. ET and is the first of CEBL's opening week of 2024, sponsored by Neo Financial.

The CEBL is Canada's largest professional sports league with 10 teams in six provinces
Record growth in 2023. The league saw a 52% increase in total attendance from 2022 to 2023, and the Winnipeg Sea Bears (who play at the Canada Life Centre) set a previous single-game record of 10,580 fans on August 4 against Edmonton in the Play-In Round. playoff run and the previous regular-season single-game record of 8,230 fans on July 29 against Edmonton were both surpassed by the Surge tonight.
