Wintry conditions will continue in Calgary through midweek

Happy March 1! Mother Nature is reminding us that it's still officially winter — at least for a few more weeks.

Expect another cold, snowy day on Saturday. This is from a statewide system that will bring heavy snow to southern and central Alberta throughout the day.

Highway 2 from the U.S. border to Edmonton will experience heavy snow and snow at times Saturday. In the eastern part of the province, even heavier snow is possible:

Calgary is seeing between five and 10 centimeters of snow Saturday, with wind chills remaining in the minus twenties throughout the day:

Snow will fall in Calgary and western Alberta on Sunday, but will continue across the eastern half. It's good to have a winter coat available for a while. We'll hold minus double-digit intraday highs until Tuesday next week. Then we begin a significant warming trend.
