Winnipeg police are appealing for information about a fatal collision on Portage Avenue

WINNIPEG – NEWS – On May 19, 2024 at approximately 10:45 p.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at Portage Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard. A passenger car and a woman pedestrian collided in the accident.

Emergency response and outcome

Winnipeg Fire Paramedics arrived immediately and transported the pedestrian to hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, he died from his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the police in the investigation.

An ongoing investigation

The investigation is being conducted by the Traffic Accident Investigation Department of the Traffic Police Department. Authorities are looking for any information that could help them understand the circumstances of the collision, including video or surveillance footage.
