Slush Cup returns to Sunshine Village

This is a Rocky Mountain tradition that has been taking place for almost a century.

Skiers and boarders got wet and wild at the 95th Slush Cup at Sunshine Village.

The Victoria Day Slush Cup traditionally marks the last day of the ski season in Sunshine.

Intrepid skiers and boarders donned wild costumes and showed off their sometimes brilliant, sometimes imperfect skills.

They were going to speed up the run, go over the jump, and swim across the pool.

Security crews were on hand to fish them out safely.

Skiers and boarders got wet and wild at the 95th Slush Cup at Sunshine Village.One hundred contestants from around the world competed for the Mr. and Mrs. Slush trophy, $1,000 in prizes and season tickets.

The origins of the Slush Cup date back to 1928, when two friends dared each other to ski past each other.

Sunshine boasts that they have the longest glacier-free ski season in Canada.
