A pedestrian was killed in a collision with a car on Sunday evening.

Police were called to a collision at Portage Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard just before 11 p.m.

The female pedestrian was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital in critical condition, but died from her injuries, Winnipeg police said in a statement.

The driver of the crash remained at the scene and spoke with investigators.

Winnipeg police are still investigating the incident and are asking anyone who witnessed or has video footage of the collision to contact traffic investigators at 204-986-7085 or report information anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS). ) or online at winnipegcrimestoppers.org

  • In an earlier version of this story, the bicyclist died after the collision, according to a police news release. In fact, the Winnipeg Police Service released an update indicating that the deceased was a pedestrian.
