A boil water alert was raised for Gimli

A boil water advisory has been lifted for Gimli, Manitoba, about 80 kilometers north of Winnipeg.

The RM issued the advisory on Saturday after a power outage caused pumps at the Gimli Water Treatment Plant to fail.

Residents were asked to boil all water intended for consumption for at least one minute before using it.

Around 2:15 p.m., RM testing showed they met regulatory standards, allowing them to remove the tips.

“We thank our businesses and residents for their patience, cooperation and understanding during this event,” RM said in a statement.
