Canada handed Switzerland its first loss at the 2024 World Cup in the Czech Republic on Sunday.

After Dylan Cozens opened the scoring 1:42 into the first period, Switzerland scored from Kevin Fiala at 11:15 of the first period and Romain Loeffel at 5:03 of the second to take a 2-1 lead.

Cozens tied it four minutes later and Nick Paul scored the game-winning goal at the 10:39 mark of the middle frame. All three of Canada's goals came on the power play, with two coming on Fiala's second-period kneeling foul.

Jets forward Nino Niederreiter started the game along with Fiala and Nico Hischier on the top line and finished the game with two shots on goal and 20:52 to play.

Switzerland closes out the round against Finland at 1:20 CT.
