Roman Josi had a goal and 2 assists as the Predators beat the Jets 3-2 for their 5th straight win.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Roman Josi had a goal and two assists to help Nashville beat Winnipeg 3-2 on Sunday night, extending the Predators' winning streak to five and ending the Jets' streak at five.

Also, Yakov Trenin and Gustav Nyqvist scored, Juuse Saros made 33 saves.

“We are capable of winning these tough games,” Saros said. “It's a good sign for the whole team.”

Josh Morrissey and Cole Perfetti scored for Winnipeg. Laurent Brossoit made 24 saves.

“We had some great opportunities, we had some good looks,” Winnipeg coach Rick Bowness said. “Saros made a timely save.”

Trenin opened the scoring with 19.4 seconds left in the game. Josi drove the puck into the Winnipeg zone on the left side, and his shot from the rim was met by Brossoit. The rebound landed on Trenin's stick and he scored his fourth goal in his last five games.

“I was just trying to get into the rush and find an open area for me to pass or rebound,” Trenin said. “That's exactly what happened.”

Trenin was scoreless in Nashville's first 13 games of the season and was a healthy scratch for the game before reentering the lineup.

Josey scored at 1:26 of the second on a tight-angle wrist shot from the left wing.

“I got lucky with that goal,” Josie said. “I think I've had better chances before, but it's on. Obviously I want to produce, but if we're winning and I'm not producing, I'm perfectly happy with that.”

Nyqvist's power play goal made it 3-0 at 6:22 of the second, capped off a nice pass by Filip Forsberg and Josi.

Josey's three-pointer was the 30th of his career, all with Nashville. He and Forsberg (37) are the only players in Predators history to make more than 30 three-pointers.

Nyquist extended his hitting streak to eight games. During that time, he has two goals and eight assists.

Morrissey and Perfetti scored 42 seconds apart midway through the third period to end Saros' bid for a shutout.

“Saros is a good goalkeeper, he made some big saves,” Perfetti said. “He's a top keeper, so sometimes you have to tip your hat. We've made lots and that's all you can ask for. The puck doesn't go in every time.”

Perfetti's powerful shot hit the left post, then the crossbar and then the right post before crossing the goal line.
