National Paramedics Week kicks off with a demonstration at Calgary's Southcentre Mall

Alberta Health Services' Emergency Medical Services will open the curtain to allow the public to see the tools and medical equipment that paramedics use to save lives.

It's the first day of National Paramedic Services Week and it kicks off with EMS Fleet Day in Southcentre Mall's west car park on Sunday from 11am to 3pm.

It offers interactive ambulance and EMS vehicle tours, as well as demonstrations of medical equipment and paramedics to see all the ways they provide care to the community.

National Paramedic Services Week 2024 will take place May 19-25 and will not only honor the people who provide this important public service, but also give the public a better understanding of the role EMS plays in the health care system and in our communities.
