Manitoba Integrated High-Risk Sex Offender Unit Advises on Release of High-Risk Sex Offender Harry EDWARDS Jr. (also known as Brandyn EDWARDS, Gary TITE, Harry CRASSWELL, Harry CRASSWELLER)

WINNIPEG – NEWS – The Manitoba High-Risk Sex Offender Integrated Unit (MIHRSOU) is a joint effort between the Winnipeg Police Service and the RCMP. MIHRSOU provides information regarding today Harry EDWARDS Jr. (also known as Brandyn EDWARDS, Gary TITE, Harry CRASSWELL, Harry CRASSWELLER)A 45-year-old convicted sex offender is considered to be at high risk for sexual/violent reoffending.

Edwards was released from the Stony Mountain Institution in Manitoba after serving a sentence for illegal activity.

Edwards Expected to reside in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Edwards has a history of violent intercourse. Although he previously participated in sex offender treatment, EDWARDS is still considered a high risk of reoffending. All women, both adults and children, are at risk of sexual violence.

Primary information:

Harry Edwards Jr A 45-year-old man with a long criminal record for sexual assault with a weapon, armed robbery, burglary, theft, assault and multiple recognizance violations.

Edwards previously released on Nov. 6, 2023 convictions for sexual assault with a weapon, 2 counts of armed robbery, fleeing a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and theft over $5,000. He was convicted of these offenses on 29 October 2013 and sentenced to a total of 12 years in prison (including 18 months and 16 days of pre-trial detention).

Edwards The previous convictions stemmed from separate incidents that happened on the same day in April 2012. At first, he accidentally strangled a woman until she nearly passed out. Threatening to stab her if she did not comply, EDWARDS then took the victim to a dark area of ​​a nearby building, robbed and sexually assaulted her. Later that day, EDWARDS entered a secure building when a second random woman snuck up behind him and assaulted him. EDWARDS robbed her at knifepoint, sexually assaulted her, then stole her car to get away. A short time later, police spotted Edwards driving the stolen vehicle. Edwards attempted to flee in both a vehicle and on foot, but was apprehended nonetheless.

Edwards committed both acts of sexual violence against strangers within less than an hour of each other.

When released, Edwards Subject to statutory release conditions issued by the Parole Board of Canada, which include:

  • Residence in a location approved by the Correctional Service of Canada
  • Do not consume, purchase or possess any medication other than prescription medication
  • Alcohol may not be consumed, purchased or stored
  • Report all sexual and non-sexual relationships and friendships with women and any changes in relationship/friendship status to your parole supervisor immediately.
  • Avoid direct or indirect contact with victims or family members of victims

Edwards and is also subject to a lifetime weapons prohibition order.

Edwards has a history of violence and sexual offenses. Although he has previously participated in treatment programming, EDWARDS is still considered a high risk for sexual and/or sexually violent reoffending. All women, adults and children are at risk.

Edwards Expected to reside in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
