Winnipeg fire: The site of former flames has burned again

Another building in the city that had previously caught fire was engulfed in flames again on Saturday morning.

Crews were called to an industrial structure in the 900 block of Logan Avenue around 5:30 a.m.

According to the city administration, flames were seen inside the building and it was not safe for firefighters to enter the building.

Crews remained on scene Saturday afternoon to “douse the fire.” That means Logan is closed between Arlington and McPhillips streets and will remain that way until firefighters leave the scene.

Nearby residents are being asked to avoid the area, and the city has also shut down rail traffic on a nearby road.

The last fire in this building occurred in August 2023. The damage caused by that fire led to the destruction of part of the building.
