Residents are returning to their homes as the Manitoba Forest Fire Service brings the fire under control

The Manitoba Fire Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Fire Commissioner (OFC), the Emergency Management Organization of Manitoba (EMO) and the Manitoba Fire Service, notified residents of communities affected by two active fires around Flin Flon and Paz. allowed to go home on Sunday morning.

Significant resources continue to extinguish the WE010 fire. They include six water bombers, seven helicopters, more than 200 provincial personnel, 40 firefighters from Ontario, five from Parks Canada, 20 from New Brunswick who arrived today and 21 from Quebec who arrived this weekend.

Provincial emergency social services will be available to residents, and drop-in centers at the Wescana Inn in Pas and the Victoria Inn in Flin Flon will be open this weekend. The collective efforts of these organizations ensured the safety of residents and contained the fire.
