HAL'S KITCHEN: Salsa celebrates hot dogs

Content of the article

I was in hot dog heaven at Salisbury House the other day. I went to Sals on Leila Avenue and tasted the six different dogs that are currently on the menu. The Swing Into Spring chain is available at all Salisbury House locations and offers the best hot dog balls in cities like Chicago, New York, Kansas City, Montreal and Detroit. They're all great, but my personal favorite is the Winnipeg, a true classic with a beef hot dog, grilled onions and salsa on the side. Simple but very tasty! And for under $10, that's pretty good. Every dog sold adds a Loonie to Manitoba charities through the Sals Pay It Forward program, which has raised more than $235,000 since its inception. Customers will also receive a ticket to win a suite for up to 20 people at an upcoming Winnipeg Goldeyes game.

PICKLE DR. Pepper

The latest food concoction to go viral is Dr. Pepper and pickles. It may not be as popular as pizza, mint and lamb, and pineapple on chicken and waffles. But right now a lot of people are talking about how good it is on TikTok. Do me a favor, throw some salty pickles in your next frozen Dr. Pepper and let me know what you think by emailing [email protected].
