Four people were injured in a crash on SE 36th Street

According to Calgary police, four people were injured in a car accident in the southeast part of the city on Monday.

A three-vehicle crash was reported at 9:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of SE 36th Street.

A northbound Acura SUV crossed the center lane and struck an oncoming Honda SUV, police said.

As a result of the collision, the Honda car swerved into the path of the Hyundai SUV. The Hyundai collided with the Honda, which was on the side of the road.

The driver of the Acura, a 30-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the 40-year-old woman in the passenger seat suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

According to police, the drivers of the Honda and Hyundai suffered minor injuries.

Investigators do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
