City of Calgary C-trains will not run downtown on May weekend

The City of Calgary is operating the Red Line this long weekend and will affect C-trains from north Calgary.

C-trains will stop operating at Sunnyside Station on Saturday morning and will not resume until 4 a.m. on Tuesday. Shuttle buses take transit passengers from Sunnyside Station through downtown to 39th Avenue Station.

Traffic is underway on 7th Avenue downtown during the May weekend.

Projects on this weekend's list include:

• Repair of roads and replacement of rails
• Replacement of the crossing on the 8th street
• Lighting maintenance
• Regular preventive maintenance of the switchboard, helplines and communication tools
• Concrete repair in cemetery roof tunnel
• Monitor works and other projects near Victoria Park/Stamped Station and the Big 4
• Firefighting and surface drainage inspection and maintenance
• and other projects, time permitting.
