Calgary has launched direct flights to Iceland for the first time

Exciting news, Calgary! If you're trying to figure out where to go on your next trip, we've got you covered. WestJet recently announced the first non-stop service between Calgary and Reykjavik (Keflavik)! Iceland awaits – here are all the interesting details.

WestJet's service to Reykjavik (Keflavik) operates four times a week, departing Calgary at 7:55 PM, arriving in Reykjavik (Keflavik) at 8:25 AM, and departing Reykjavik (Keflavik) at 9:45 AM, arriving at 11:00 AM. Arrives at :00: 43 am in Calgary.

Flights can be booked now until October 2024.

This new direction is not just about connectivity between the two cities, it's about recognizing our mutual commitment to global connectivity,” said Chris Dinsdale, president and CEO of the Calgary Airport Authority.

“Each step, each new goal, to advance this commitment is aimed at strengthening YYC's role and status as a global hub.”

According to WestJet, the exclusive service linking the Group's global hub in Calgary with Iceland will not only enhance the airline's efforts to improve connectivity at YYC Calgary International Airport, but will also strengthen the city's reputation as the best-connected medium-sized city in North America.
