Tyler Barrow | CTV News

Tyler Barrow joined CTV News Calgary in September 2023.

The graduate of SAIT's Polytechnic Broadcasting Program comes to the Stampede having previously worked as a late-night producer for the Northwest Territories show History's Alone and reported for CTV News stations in Lethbridge and Saskatoon.

During his time in Lethbridge, Tyler covered the city's opioid crisis, the Brooks Gang's takeover of the Junior National Championships on home ice, and also got his hands dirty – some stories related to agriculture. He was also stranded in a snowstorm near Waterton.

While in Saskatchewan, Tyler was fortunate enough to experience the province and meet many wonderful people. It told stories of Ukrainian newcomers, residential school survivors, and the 2022 James Smith Cree Nation Massacre.

Tyler was born and raised in Banff, about 125 kilometers from Calgary. Tyler tells CTV Calgary that the trip was a lot longer, but he enjoyed every moment of it.

Tyler speaks English.
