Fatal crash on Highway 11: One dead, one seriously injured

On May 14, 2024 at approximately 4:40 p.m., Whitemouth RCMP reported a tragic two-vehicle collision on Highway 11 near Provincial Road 307. The collision occurred between a truck and a car on the northbound lane of Highway 11.

Preliminary investigations show that the truck, which was initially traveling southbound on Highway 11, veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old woman from Lac du Bonnet RM, died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, a 45-year-old resident of Tyndall, suffered life-threatening injuries. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he is in critical condition. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

The RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team have been called in to assist with the ongoing investigation. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses. Our thoughts are with the families affected by this tragedy.
