A tornado warning has ended for southeastern Manitoba.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a tornado warning for southeastern Manitoba.

Environment Canada and Climate Change (ECCC) said severe thunderstorms could produce tornadoes near Riverside. It moved south at a speed of 20 km/h.

It says gusty winds, large hail and localized heavy rainfall are possible, with gusts of up to 90 km/h and nickel-sized hail.

“This is a dangerous and life-threatening situation,” the ECC warned in an alert. “If hazardous weather approaches, take cover immediately. If you hear a rumbling sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any hazardous weather approaching, take shelter immediately.”

There are currently no extreme weather watches or warnings for Manitoba
