A massive fire broke out at the Wrangler Road facility

A huge fire is burning outside of Calgary.

The fire broke out around 8 p.m. Thursday in the east end of Calgary near Glenmore Trail and Stoney Trail SE.

Smoke and flames could be seen from miles away, prompting numerous calls to 911.

The Wrangler Road address is for the Beaver Grinding and Processing Plant.

According to the company's website, it's a family-owned business that recycles untreated waste wood and pallets, which are then turned into other uses.

Firefighters are working at the scene.

It is not known whether anyone was at the scene when the fire started or what caused it.
