A driver plowed through the sign of a pizza shop in northeast Calgary

A driver accidentally crashed his car through the front window of a pizza parlor in northwest Calgary on Thursday.

Emergency crews were called to Little Caesars near Panatella Boulevard NW and Harvest Hills Boulevard around noon for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a building.

The Calgary Fire Department (CFD) told CityNews that the car was completely embedded inside the restaurant. They call a collision an accident.

No injuries were reported.

CFD says there were four employees behind the pizza counter at the time, and no one in the front of the store.

The driver was treated at the scene as a precaution but was not injured.

According to CFD, the assessment found that the building was not structurally damaged.

Police were called to investigate and said the incident was not criminal.
