NHL Draft Lottery: Here are the Calgary Flames odds

The Calgary Flames will find out Tuesday afternoon where they will pick in the 2024 National Hockey League (NHL) draft.

The NHL will air its annual draft lottery for the 16 teams that failed to qualify for the playoffs at 4:30 p.m.

The Flames, who finished ninth from the bottom of the league standings, have a five percent chance of being the top pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

Boston University forward Maclin Celebrini may be the top pick in this year's draft, finishing the year as NHL Central Scouting's top skater in North America.

Anton Silaev, the defenseman of the Nizhny Novgorod team of the KHL, took the lead in the scouts' rating among European skaters.

The full list of lottery odds is as follows:

  • San Jose Sharks – 18.5 percent
  • Chicago Blackhawks – 13.5 percent
  • Anaheim Ducks – 11.5 percent
  • Columbus Blue Jackets – 9.5 percent
  • Montreal Canadiens – 8.5 percent
  • Utah – 7.5 percent
  • Ottawa Senators – 6.5 percent
  • Seattle Kraken – 6.0 percent
  • Calgary Flames – 5.0 percent
  • New Jersey Devils – 3.5 percent
  • Buffalo Sabers – 3.0 percent
  • Philadelphia Flyers – 2.5 percent
  • Minnesota Wild – 2.0 percent
  • Pittsburgh Penguins – 1.5 percent
  • Detroit Red Wings – 0.5 percent
  • St. Louis Blues – 0.5 percent

After changes to the NHL lottery format in 2021, only the top 11 seeds are eligible for the first pick in the draft.

Calgary has never been drafted higher than fourth.

Last year, the Flames selected Slovakian forward Samuel Honzek with the 16th pick.

The NHL draft is scheduled for June 28-29 in Las Vegas.
