Ryan Reynolds to shoot an exotic film in the village of Montreal

First up was his wife, Blakey Lively, who recently fell in love with Mile End's best coffee and donuts.

Ryan Reynolds, a Canadian actor and producer, is currently filming a new movie in Mayday Village in Montreal.

One of the most important LGBTQ+ neighborhoods in North America, the Village is a center of diversity and inclusion.

It's a vibrant urban mix that brings together LGBTQ+ and heterosexual communities and is known for its vibrant nightlife and great restaurants.

Filled with cozy bed and breakfasts housed in century-old buildings, specialty shops, cafés and bars, it's a constant buzz of excitement along St Catherine's Street, which runs east to west near Beaudry metro station.

In recent days, the village has been transformed into retro San Diego, California – the backdrop for the film Mayday, starring Reynolds.

Look for palm trees, vintage cars and old school shelves between Panet and Visitation Streets, where you can spot the Deadpool star in a naval officer's uniform.

Ryan and Blake are said to hang out regularly when one of them is filming.

If so, Blake, head to Homer's Donuts in NDG to indulge your sweet tooth, or pick up some of the city's best bread and croissants at bakeries like La Meunerie Urbaine or Patisserie Nancy.

Don't miss out on great coffee from neighborhood spots like Melk and Cafe de Mercanti, just to name a few.
