CF Montréal will visit Forge FC on Tuesday in the Canadian Championship

HAMILTON, Ontario – CF Montréal will face Forge FC in the first leg of the 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship Quarterfinals this Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. EDT at Tim Hortons Field (OneSoccer, BPM Sports).

For the fourth year in a row, CF Montréal will face Hamilton in the Canadian Championship. Bleu-blanc-noir is undefeated against their Ontario rivals, with a perfect 3-0-0 record (five goals scored and none conceded).

In their last and only visit to Tim Hortons Field in 2021, the Montrealers won the semifinal on penalties after a 0-0 tie in regulation (8-7). Goalkeeper Sebastian Breza scored the winning penalty.

Striker Sunusi Ibrahim remains the team's leading active scorer at the Canadian Championship with six goals in the tournament.

The reigning Canadian Premier League champions advance to the quarterfinals on May 1 after defeating York United FC 3-1 in the preliminary round. Bobby Smirniotis' team boasts a perfect regular season record to date. In three games, Hamilton scored seven goals and conceded two for three wins. The team also took part in the CONCACAF Champions Cup for the first time in its history in February, giving it an early start to the 2024 season. However, the Ontarians lost to CD Guadalajara of LIGA MX 5-2 in the first round.
