Calgary Weather: Monday night brings the bulk of a rain system into Tuesday night

Southern Alberta will see more rain, most of it Monday night and into Tuesday.

Expect a rainy, windy and chilly day for Calgary:

Rain will increase east of Highway 2.

Many communities will receive much-needed rain, while some local areas in southeastern Alberta may experience too much rain, leading to some localized flooding.

Calgary could see 15 to 25 millimeters of rain.

Most communities east of Highway 2 will get between 30 and 50 millimeters.

Locations in purple on the map see 50 to 70 millimeters, while areas in red and orange (especially communities south of Brooks and Taber) are at risk of 70 to 100 millimeters.

This timeline is Monday through Wednesday morning.

A bit of rain is likely for Calgary on Wednesday as things start to settle down.

Friday and the weekend will be dry and hot, with temperatures in the low to mid 20s.
