Calgary police are looking for a suspect in a Bankview shooting

Calgary police have identified a suspect in a shooting in the Bankview community who was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

At 4 a.m. on Feb. 12, police were called to a home in the 1600 block of 22nd Avenue.

First responders found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

“It was later determined that the victim was shot and killed by someone he knew well after an altercation that began several hours before the incident,” police said in a statement.

On Feb. 22, police executed a search warrant at the home and “found evidence” leading to charges against Kosmos Lowingali, 25, of Calgary.

He is charged with aggravated assault, willful discharge of a firearm, use of a firearm in the commission of an indictable offense, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, aiming a firearm, possession of a firearm without a license and possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm with ammunition.

Loingaly was not arrested at the home and police are now seeking the public's help in locating him.

He is described as 168 centimeters (5'6″) tall, 54.4 kilograms (120 pounds), of slim build, with black hair and brown eyes.
