A woman was killed after being hit by a car in Winnipeg on Saturday

Winnipeg police say one person was killed in a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Saturday.

WPS says on May 4th around 12:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of a collision at St. Mary's Road and Chesterfield Avenue.

Emergency personnel took the 38-year-old woman to the hospital in critical condition, where she later died from her injuries.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and spoke with officers after the crash.
