A water main flooded a basement in southwest Calgary

Firefighters battled a water main break in southwest Calgary Friday night.

Firefighters say a main fire broke out on 29th Avenue near South Calgary near Marda Loop and spilled into the basement of a nearby home that was being repaired.

Firefighters used buckets of water from the home until city workers turned off the mains.

No one was displaced and no other houses were damaged as the house was being repaired.
