A southeast Calgary home was destroyed in a fire Sunday

An investigation is underway after a two-alarm fire destroyed a home in southeast Calgary early Sunday morning.

The residence is located in rural SE south of Highway 22X and east of 88th Street.

A second alarm was called at 8 a.m. to allow firefighters to respond and provide sufficient resources to the scene.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but the house was gutted.

Four residents got out on their own before firefighters arrived. Three were taken to AHS Hospital for mild smoke inhalation, and one person was taken to the hospital with severe burns.

All of them migrate to other places because of the fire.

Investigators at the scene are investigating the cause of the fire.
