This year's theme is exploring digital innovation in wildlife conservation.

“There are many ways digital technology can help improve understanding of wildlife,” Calgary Wildlife Executive Director Becky Hunt said in a media release.

“Wildlife enthusiasts can set up wildlife cameras in their backyards to capture the incredible urban wildlife we share our spaces with, or participate in citizen science like the annual Backyard Bird Count, which uses an app to identify and count all kinds of birds. passing through the territory”.

“Participating in bird and bat window strike counts in dense urban settings is another way digital technology can help wildlife by using an app to track global window strike totals and survival rates,” Hunt said.

All proceeds from the competition will be used to treat orphaned and injured wildlife.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges who are passionate about photography and wildlife.

Winning photos will be featured in the organization's printed calendar and online. Winners will receive prizes from various sponsors
