Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers | MLB Baseball

warning: The Jets and Moose are both ready for the season. There was some news this morning as DEL announced the signing of Adler Mannheim Christian Reichel He signed a three-year contract to play in Germany. Reichel was largely a home-grown product as he spent the last six years in Winnipeg, including 15 games with the Jets.

Note II: While the Moose's end-of-season media interviews may seem gonzo, they've been found(o), meaning we'll have plenty of video chats with members of the AHL club in Manitoba this week.

Jets media availability at the end of the season: Adam Lowry and Connor Hellebuyck | Dylan DeMelo and Sean Monahan | Kyle Connor and Tyler Toffoli | Mark Scheifele and Nate Schmidt | Nikolai Ehlers and Josh Morrissey | Neil Pionk and Brenden Dillon |

TheScore: A decade of NHL playoff format should be enough. The NHL likes to act like it never made a mistake, but finishing with the 2nd best record in the West doesn't seem like a reward, and your reward is playing the 4th best team. The old format would have seen the Jets take on the Kings, which would have been great for the storylines following last summer's blockbuster trade between the two clubs, and it would have been a much easier road than the Avs.

Hockey Writers: Jets face critical offseason decision with Nikolai Ehlers. Connor will check in on Thursday, a topic that has been discussed by many in the media since the end of the season, and something that has been speculated for some time. With the Dynamic Dane about to enter the final season of his seven-year contract, he will only get stronger next year.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets' season fades into black again. (Paywall). Charles laments Winnipeg's worst possible postseason matchup.

The Illegal Crooked Hockey Show: The Saturday Podcast. On this weekend's show, we focused on whether Rick Bowness will be back behind the Jets bench for the 2024-25 season. We spoke with Winnipeg's players, coach and GM about their late-season media availability, looked at which current Jets UFAs might stick around, discussed the possibilities of players like Perfetti and Heinola, and looked at the next crop of prospects (Lambert, Salomonson, McGroarty, Barlow, etc.) p.). We also covered Tomas Milich's ELC signing with the Jets. The guests were Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press (who joined us for an extended interview) and John Goyens of TSN 690 and the Daily Faceoff.
