Two men seriously injured in Lachine shooting – Montreal

Two men are in hospital after being shot and killed in Lachine on Sunday night.

The gunshot was first reported on 42nd Avenue near St. Joseph Street at 11:20 p.m., police said.

The men, ages 28 and 33, were found by first responders on a residential street with “severe” gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Montreal police spokeswoman Caroline Chevrefils said one of the men was inside the vehicle and the other was found outside the vehicle but not far away.

Despite their significant injuries, both are expected to recover.

Many shell casings were found at the scene, Chevrefils said. It is not known if there was any exchange of fire between the men and their attackers.

The suspects involved in the shooting reportedly fled the scene before police arrived.

Investigators said they will speak with witnesses to get a description of the vehicle that drove off the road.
