The Macleod Trail will reopen once the overpass incident is resolved

Friday's incident that led to the closure of McLeod Trail in both directions has been resolved, according to Calgary police.

McLeod Freeway was closed in both directions Friday evening after a man was “behaving strangely” on the overpass at 162nd Avenue SE/Sun Valley Boulevard, a police spokesman said.

“Macleod Trail SE at Sun Valley Boulevard is now open,” police tweeted on social media Saturday morning.

“The situation was successfully de-escalated and resolved without injury,” they added.

“We thank the public for their patience.”
