Nathan Rourke waived by New England Patriots – Winnipeg Free Press

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Canadian Nathan Rourke's time with the New England Patriots appears to be over.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Patriots have informed Rourke that he will be waived.

The move leaves New England with four quarterbacks: veterans Jacoby Brissett and Bailey Zappé and rookies Drake May (third pick in the 2024 draft) and Joe Milton (sixth-round pick in 2024).

New England claimed Rourke off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars last December, and he committed to Zapp at the end of the season.

Rourke did not play in any NFL games with Jacksonville or New England.

Rourke, 25, a native of Victoria, was named the CFL's Canadian Player of the Year in 2022 after rushing for 3,349 yards and 25 TDs in just 10 regular-season games with the BC Lions. His campaign was cut short after he sprained his Lisfranc ligament in his right leg.
