The Manitoba government will launch a $15 million fund to support the families of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and Two-Spirit people.

“This fund provides a sustainable long-term commitment to meet needs and support families for years to come,” Families Minister Nahanni Fontaine said in a press release on Sunday.

The province is working with MMIWG2S+ families, the Matriarch Circle and community partners to develop guidelines for grant eligibility and allocation, the release said.
