4 shootings in Montreal overnight injured 3 men and damaged property

Montreal police are investigating four separate shootings that left three men injured and vehicles fired at on Monday night.

The most recent incident happened around 2 a.m. when police were called to a shooting in the Ville-Marie district, near the intersection of rue Saint-Denis and rue de Maisonneuve.

Upon arrival, police found two men with gunshot wounds – a 32-year-old man with an upper-body injury and a 26-year-old man with a lower-body injury.

They were immediately taken to the hospital. Police describe their condition as stable.

Two suspects aged 34 and 47 were arrested at the scene. Their relationship with the victims is still unknown.

Later in the evening, around midnight, officers responded to a shooting two blocks away in Emilie-Gamelin Square.

Authorities say they found a man with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Witnesses said police shot at least one suspect before fleeing the scene.

The 38-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and his condition has since stabilized.

No arrests have been made in this incident.

Police say it's too early to confirm whether the two downtown shootings are connected.

About 30 minutes later, at about 12:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call about a shooting on 31st Avenue near Beaubien Street in the Rosemont-La Petite-Patri neighborhood.

Officials found a parked car riddled with bullets and several shell casings on the ground around him. No victims or suspects were found.

At night, around 8:00 p.m., police were shot near a school yard in the Anjou district, at the intersection of avenue de Jalesnes and boulevard de Galerie d'Anjou.

No injuries or suspects were found, but bullet casings were found at the scene along with the damaged vehicle.

Investigations into the four shootings are ongoing.
