3 people died in a car accident in Quebec

Three people were killed in a crash on Route 108 near Bury in Eastern Township, Quebec, Saturday evening.

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision at around 10.15pm on Saturday.

“For unknown reasons, a car with two occupants traveling eastbound crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on,” said Nicolas Scholtus, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Quebec (SQ).

The 23-year-old female driver, her 24-year-old passenger and the 70-year-old driver of the second vehicle were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. All three were later pronounced dead.

The SQ is investigating in conjunction with the Quebec coroner's office. An SQ investigator and police officers were on the scene to investigate the incident.

A portion of Route 108 was closed to traffic just before 5 a.m. Sunday.
