The Montreal Canadiens wrapped up their season on Tuesday, so it's no surprise they sent four eligible players to the Laval Rockets on Wednesday. Justin Barron and Logan Maylow were with the American Hockey League at the NHL trade deadline, while Joshua Roy and Jayden Struble were signed to maintain their eligibility.

The four are a much-needed boost for the Rockets, who must win the final two games of the season to make the playoffs (and may still need help). The biggest news is that Roy, who was sidelined for four weeks with an upper body injury, is back in practice and cleared to play.

Roy's inclusion will be needed as Brandon Gignac and Mitchell Stevens are doubtful for the weekend and Jacob Perreault is definitely out. The Rockets also added Luke Tuch, who could be called up to play.

Defensively, the Rockets will have the strongest group they've had all season. Struble, Barron and Mailloux join a group that includes David Reinbacher, Toby Paquette-Bisson, William Trudeau, Olivier Galipeau and Matthias Norlinder.

Laval plays in Belleville on Friday against the Senators, who host them in the season finale on Saturday night. Laval must win both games and the Utica Comets must lose one of their remaining three games for the Rockets to advance to the playoffs.
