Serena Ryder and Johnny Reid attend the Juno Awards in Winnipeg

The stage is set for the biggest night in the Canadian music industry and co-hosts Serena Ryder and Johnny Reid say they're ready.

Ryder and Reed were part of the Juno Awards for Media at Winnipeg's MTS Centre, which will be broadcast live on Sunday night.

Reid is a platinum-selling three-time Juno Award winner, and Ryder is a multi-platinum four-time Juno Award winner.

“It's probably the only time Serena has told me to use subtitles at the Junos when she's speaking,” laughed Scotland-born Reed.

Performers in town for the show include Robin Thicke, Walk off the Earth, Sarah McLachlan and Classified, the platinum-selling hip-hop artist and 2013 Juno Award winner who also co-hosts Reid and Ryder.

Reporters and cameras were allowed to listen to the sound check of several Juno nominees, Tegan and Sara.

In addition to hosting, Ryder is one of the five nominees for the night, including artist, album and single of the year.

Montreal's Arcade Fire, whose fourth full-length album Reflektor topped the charts in October, led the way with six nominations.

Bublé — an 11-time winner and last year's host of the year — earned five nominations, including album, single and artist of the year, while Calgary-bred pop outfit Tegan and Sara picked up four for their reinvention of “Heartthrob.”

Other four-time nominees include Celine Dion (20-time winner), Headley (now 25-time nominee) and Drake, now a 20-time nominee.

Winnipeg-born Chantal Kreviazuk and husband Rayne Maida will receive the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award, and classic Winnipeg rock outfit Bachmann-Turner Overdrive will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
