Mild weather in Winnipeg today, but a reality check later this week

Winnipeg will continue to have milder-than-normal temperatures today and tomorrow, but expect a cold reminder of winter by the end of the week, warns CBC meteorologist John Sauder.

Winnipeggers were treated to fog and temperatures as low as -6 degrees on Tuesday morning. Sauder said the mercury should climb to -1 degrees Tuesday afternoon, followed by an overnight low of -2 degrees.

Then the temperature will start to drop, rising to -4 degrees on Wednesday and -15 degrees on Thursday.

Friday night lows are expected to be -21°C and daytime highs are expected to be -13°C, which is close to the normal temperatures for this time of year of -22°C and -12°C.
