Winnipeg Fire Paramedics are responding to two house fires

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) recently responded to two separate fires, one on Manitoba Avenue and the other in Delorme Bay.

The first incident occurred at a two-story converted residence in the 300 block of Manitoba Avenue. WFPS crews were called to the scene on Monday, April 15 at 5:44 p.m., where they found smoke coming from the building. An internal fire attack began and the fire was brought under control at 6:48 p.m. However, at 2:22 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, crews were forced to respond again after fire control discovered the fire. The fire was brought under control at 3 am. On March 27, 2024, an unoccupied and boarded-up residence suffered an unknown amount of damage due to a previous fire. Now the cause of two fires is being determined.

The second incident happened at a single-story residence in the first 100 block of Delorme Avenue. WFPS crews responded to the scene on Tuesday, April 16 at 1:32 p.m. Upon arrival, crews observed light smoke coming from the home. They entered the building, quickly extinguished the fire, and reported that it was under control at 2:00 p.m. Before the brigade arrived at the scene, the residents of the house were evacuated by themselves, there were no injuries. The cause of this fire is also being determined.
