Winnipeg drug bust: Two arrested on charges of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine.

An investigation into drug trafficking led the Winnipeg Police Service's firearms and gangs unit to serve search warrants at a residence on Amy Street and a vehicle parked nearby on Waterfront Drive.

When officers approached the vehicle, two men, suspected of being in possession of illegal drugs, attempted to flee the scene. Both were quickly caught and arrested. A thorough search of the residence and vehicle yielded the following:

  • Approx 650 grams of cocainewith estimated street value 26,000 dollars
  • Approx 300 grams of methamphetaminewith estimated street value 3000 dollars
  • Medicine packaging materials
  • Personal identification
  • $230 in Canadian currency

The suspects, Jade Ronald Pretty, 46, and a 40-year-old Winnipeg woman are facing serious charges. Pretty accused:

  • Possession of a substance scheduled for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine (two counts)
  • Possession of a substance scheduled for the purpose of human trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

After the charges, Patty was arrested.

The female suspect is charged with selling methamphetamine and cocaine. He was released under the obligation stipulated by the Criminal Code.
