Weather in Toronto: Showers, possible thunderstorms

Rain has started to fall in Toronto and will continue into Wednesday amid the threat of thunderstorms this morning and tonight.

The storm is expected to drop between 10 and 22 millimeters of rain by midnight, according to Environment Canada.

Rain is expected to continue overnight with a chance of thunderstorms after 7pm.

“This morning, it is raining, cold wind is blowing in the region, and a spring storm is blowing. Active weather will stop under cloudy skies on Thursday and temperatures will rise. More rain is expected Friday afternoon,” CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said.

Winds from the southeast will gust to 50 km/h this afternoon, making travel difficult. The maximum temperature will reach 9 degrees.

The rain should dry out by the weekend, when mostly sunny weather is expected. Temperatures will be unseasonably cool, reaching 9 and 11 degrees on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
