Toronto police are monitoring rail line protests

Toronto police say they are monitoring Palestinian protests that have blocked rail lines in the city.

The group told CP24 they were stationed near the Junction on the railroad tracks at Osler Street and Pelham Avenue and planned to stay there for several hours.

Toronto police said they were monitoring the protest at the scene and that no arrests had been made yet. They added that there were about 100-120 demonstrators.

Metrolinx said there were no disruptions to its services due to the protests. In a brief statement, a CP Rail spokesman said: “We are aware of the protest and are in contact with local authorities.”

Police say roads are closed due to the protest. Osler Street is closed from Caribou Avenue to Linder Street, and Pelham Avenue is closed at Uxbridge.
