Police are investigating a fatal crash in Midnapore, southeast of Calgary

Calgary police are investigating a fatal collision in the southeast community of Midnapore on Tuesday.

Officers were called to the intersection of Midlake Boulevard and Midpark Boulevard around 10:40 a.m. after a two-vehicle crash.

One man died at the scene and the other was taken to Foothills Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, EMS spokesman Adam Loria said.

According to the police, one of the drivers involved in the collision was arrested.

Midpark Boulevard and Midlake Boulevard between McLeod Trail and Midpark Reese reopened in the afternoon after being closed for several hours while emergency crews and investigators were on the scene, police said.

The cause is still under investigation and no other information is available.
