Melt away: Temperatures will soon soar to 23°C in Calgary

Calgarians woke up to snow Tuesday morning, but the good news is it's not expected to last too long!

The flurries should continue through midweek, but after Wednesday the sun will return and bring warmer temperatures.

Thursday's high is 3°C, and temperatures will rise throughout the week, reaching 13°C on Monday.

It will be sunny as temperatures start to warm, but clouds are forecast to stick around, albeit in the double digits.

The snow is part of a flurry of weather sweeping across the province.

“We're seeing a really warm weekend and above normal levels. When we have this, the jet stream turns south and becomes the upper trough. It's a massive pattern change that brings cooler air and more active weather, snow and that sort of thing. It's going to affect a lot of western North America,” Alisa Pederson of Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) told the Daily Hive.

So don't be put off by the snow this week. It won't be long before we see the sun (and the t-shirts) again.
