Calgary street cleaning postponed due to snow

The City of Calgary announced on Tuesday that some residential street sweeping has been delayed due to spring snow.

Snow began falling late Monday and is expected to continue Tuesday and into Wednesday morning.

“Snow and ice accumulations can cause problems for our sweeping equipment,” the city explained in a news release.

Thus, the clean-up work in the communities of Citadel (West), Legacy and Coventry Hills (North and East parts) scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed.

Instead, their street sweeping will be done in June.

Scheduled cleanups continue Tuesday in the communities of Rosedale, Crescent Heights, Castleridge (South), Westwinds, Capitol Hill, Rosemont, Southview, Woodbine, Meadowlark Park, Mayfair and Belayer.

Citywide sweeps are expected to continue Wednesday as planned.
