Bad conditions on Highway 2 north of Calgary: RCMP

RCMP are warning of poor road conditions north of Calgary on Wednesday due to cold and snowy weather.

Innisfail RCMP say Highway 2 north of Innisfail to south of Bowden is seeing less than ideal conditions.

Roads were covered in ice and snow, and police said there were multiple collisions and vehicles were thrown off the road.

According to the RCMP, no injuries have been reported at this time.

Police are warning the public to slow down and drive according to current road conditions.

Drivers may also experience delays on Highway 2 northbound and southbound and any other area affected by this weather.

RCMP added conditions are poor across Alberta, with many roads and highways covered in ice and/or snow, with the latest reports on Highways 44 and 37 in the Westlock area.

If possible, drivers are encouraged to avoid traveling in the area or use alternate routes.
